I have a passion for reading and literacy education. I believe all students are capable of success and maintain high expectations for staff and students while striving to provide a supportive, safe, and fun environment. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, exercising, arts and crafts, and traveling.
My favorite part of the day is reading bedtime stories to my daughters. Some of my most beloved children’s authors include Mo Willems, Kevin Henkes, and Beverly Cleary.

I believe children thrive when they feel confident, supported, and nurtured. Children are little scientists with an innate drive to learn about the world around them. My goal is to create positive, nurturing environments that support children’s natural curiosity, and which encourage a love for learning. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, playing sports, watching Seattle sports, paddleboarding, bike riding and going to Seattle Sounders matches, as well as playing with my Beagle Lucy.
Some of my favorite children’s authors include Robert Munsch, Eric Carle, and Mo Willems.

I enjoy making connections with kids and building trust with them. I love to see kids as they mature and learn about themselves and the world and being a part of that connection energizes me. I enjoy reading Historical Fiction. My favorite indoor games are Rummikub, Cribbage and Yahtzee. My favorite outdoor games to play with kids are Capture the Flag, Obstacle Courses and Relays, Red light/Green light, Duck, Duck, Duck, Goose and Dodge Ball.
My favorite children’s book series is Little House on the Prairie Some of my favorite things to do include playing with my dogs, hanging out with my friends, reading, skiing, golfing and traveling.
I have a BS degree in Elementary Education from the State University of NY Oneonta.
August 2004 - Present: Newport Children’s School - Bellevue WA | Pre- K teacher, Before and After School Director and Office Assistant 1989 - 2004: Surrydown Children’s Center - Bellevue WA | Pre-K teacher and office assistant I substitute taught in NY before moving to Florida and worked as a Children’s Librarian there. I moved to Washington in 1989.
